Ramana is the founder of Ramana Coaching Center and a professional software architect. He has a serious passion for teaching mathematics and helping students become successful. He has been teaching SAT and high school mathematics for over 12 years. He enjoys motivating students and helping them to perform their very best.

Experience:
Debbie graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in English. She taught at Santa Fe Community College before moving to NYC in 1999. In New York, Debbie worked for a non-profit before returning to her passion: teaching. She was accepted into the highly selective NYC Teaching Fellows and earned her M.S. in Adolescent Education, English. After teaching high school ELA for five years, Debbie decided to return to teaching college freshmen and taught in the CUNY Start program. She now lives in North Carolina and loves teaching online.
Why do I like teaching?
I love to see a student “get it” and no longer need my assistance with a certain skill. I love pointing out to students when their hard work is paying off and they have improved. I believe we can all achieve so much more than we know and teaching helps students see that.

Experience:
Elizabeth Smith received her teaching certification from Francis Marion University in 2009, where she also received a degree in English Literature. In 2019, she received her master’s degree, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Auburn University, where she also teaches Composition.

Experience:Quentona began teaching 8th grade English in 2004 and has been teaching ever since. She began working for Ramana in February 2017 and has truly enjoyed the experienced. Her favorite part of teaching at RCC is helping each student grow from the diagnostic test all the way to their final class. Seeing the “ah-ha” moments and witnessing their confidence grow is always special.

Experience:
Despite having a Biology background, Darleen loves teaching Reading and Literature. She has taught elementary, middle, and English I. She is currently the English/Language Arts AIG teacher at Piedmont Middle School in Union County, North Carolina. She encourages her students to read classic literature and short stories as they frequently show up on standardized tests.

Experience:
Emily graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction. While in school, she was a graduate assistant to the English department and worked in their writing center. After graduating, she taught high school English in Fairfax, VA for three years. In addition to classroom instruction, Emily was responsible for managing a peer-to-peer tutoring center within the school. She joined Ramana Coaching Center in the fall of 2015, and she has been teaching the Stay-Ahead Reading and Writing courses since then. She has also helped with the SAT Reading and Writing classes. She currently lives in Virginia with her husband and two sons.

Experience:
Mitchell is originally from Goldsboro, North Carolina. He is a third-year teacher at Jay M. Robinson High School, where he currently teaches English I and English III. He has a B.S. in English and a minor in Secondary Education. He is also certified in both Middle School Science and English. Additionally, he is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Kenan Fellow, and Golden LEAF Scholar. In his spare time he enjoys writing poetry, reading, web development, and spending time with friends and family.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johnson C. Smith University and Masters in Secondary Education/English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Experience:
I am Altovese Simmons, a skillful English Language Arts instructor and SAT/ACT tutor with over twenty years of classroom experience. Currently, I teach English I-IV at Parkwood High School in Monroe, North Carolina. Prior to coming to Parkwood, I taught English IV, Advanced Placement& International Baccalaureate Literature & Composition with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools where I was recognized as a school level and learning zone Teacher of the Year.

In my spare time, I enjoy expanding my cultural awareness through reading, attending sporting events, volunteering in the community with my sorority and traveling to national landmarks.
